A traditional MPC implementation has a single MPC instance where budget, forecasting and actuals reporting occur. Additional functionality and reporting, which was considered out of scope for the main implementation, continue to reside in spreadsheets and other applications. Functionality and reporting is not standardized and security is limited to controlling email distribution.

MPC Satellite applications are smaller scale applications designed to solve individual business process needs. They may be stand-alone models or linked models where data is shared between databases.
